Hand-coloured nautical chart of the Strait of Bonifacio between Corsica and Sardinia.
It was published in Joseph Roux's book La Femme (1725–1793), Recueil des principaux plan des ports et rades de la mer Méditerranée. This portable atlas of Mediterranean port plans was designed as a companion to his important 12-sheet atlas of the Mediterranean, a copy of which Nelson had on board Victory.
The map shows depth measurements and anchorage points.
This chart was used on HMS Victory in 1803 and 1805 and also on HMS Shannon.
