John Rapkin (died 1876) was a British engraver and cartographer renowned for his detailed and decorative maps during the mid-19th century. He is best known for his contributions to publications by the London-based publisher John Tallis & Co., especially Tallis's Illustrated Atlas (1851), where his maps featured intricate borders and vignettes depicting local scenes, people, and landmarks. Rapkin's maps were both artistic and functional, blending topographical accuracy with ornate embellishments. His work remains celebrated for its unique combination of cartography and illustration, reflecting Victorian-era aesthetics and exploration.
