These beautiful original aquatints are from Paolo Fumagalli’s ”Traité pittoresque, historique et geométrique. Ouvrage dessiné sur les lieux hänge les années 1824 à 1830”. The work was published in Florens, 1833.
Paolo Fumagalli (1797-1873), the printmaker, owned a typography in Florence where he published his finest illustrated works. Fumagalli's work strives to convey the beauty and complexity of the places he explores through a combination of artistic creativity and scientific precision.
