Hand-coloured engraved map by Mathieu Dumas and Ambroise Tardieu, originates from the work ”Précis des événemens militaires”, published in Campagne, 1799-1807.
Provenance: the Cronstedt family.
Ambroise Tardieu (1788–1841) was a French engraver and cartographer known for his detailed and precise work. He produced numerous maps, portraits, and scientific illustrations, often collaborating with prominent scholars and institutions of his time. Tardieu's engravings were widely used in academic publications, contributing significantly to the fields of geography and science during the early 19th century.
