Bilder Giocondo Albertolli (1742–1839) – "Cornice Ornament Profile – Table II" – Hand-Colored Engraving by Vincenzio Piranesi (1782)

Beskrivning
This precise architectural engraving displays a full-scale profile of an ornate cornice, accompanied by decorative motifs and structural detailing. Titled "Dimostrazione in grande de’ profili delle cornici co’suoi Ornati", it serves as Table II in a larger neoclassical design series and was created as a reference for architects and craftsmen of the period. The lower part includes a Milanese braccio scale, used to measure all elements in real architectural proportion.
The design was created by Giocondo Albertolli, one of the leading figures in late 18th-century neoclassical architecture and decoration, known for his influence on interior ornamentation in Milan. The engraving itself was executed by Vincenzio Piranesi, continuing the tradition of precision and grandeur established by his father, Giovanni Battista Piranesi.
Executed with delicate linework and subtle hand coloring, this plate reflects the blend of artistic refinement and technical functionality that defined architectural engraving in Enlightenment Italy.
