This set features two original photographic portraits of thoroughbred stallions Joshua XX (born 1899) and Varius (born 1903), bred and documented at the Strömsholm National Stud in Sweden. Published by Christerssons Förlag, Landskrona, each image presents a formal side-profile view of the horse, along with printed information about breed, height, parentage, and ownership.
Both stallions were part of the official Swedish breeding program. Strömsholm, together with Flyinge, played a central role in developing bloodlines for cavalry and agricultural use in the early 20th century. These photographic prints were part of a comprehensive visual documentation effort used for state studbooks and equine exhibitions.
