This early 19th-century map presents the geopolitical landscape of the Russian Empire as perceived in British cartography. The map is finely engraved and hand-colored, showing detailed regional boundaries, rivers, and major cities. It was published as part of a series by Brightly & Childs in Bungay for educational purposes, specifically on September 1st, 1806, as indicated in the margin.

James Barlow (active circa 1790–1810) was a British engraver known for his collaborations with educational publishers.
