Bilder Giulio Cesare Casserius (1552–1616) & Adrian van den Spieghel (1578–1625) – "Tab. VIII – Anatomical Study of the Brain and Cranial Structures" – Copperplate Engraving (1645)

Beskrivning
This original copperplate engraving from Lib. X, Tab. VIII presents a detailed anatomical study of the brain and cranial structures. The figures (Fig. I, Fig. II, Fig. III, Fig. IV) show different views of the human skull, with particular attention to the internal brain structures and the anatomy of the cranial cavity. The Latin labels offer clarity and insight into how the early anatomists classified the complex brain regions.
This engraving is part of the posthumous publication of Giulio Cesare Casserius's works, completed and published in 1645 by Adrian van den Spieghel (Spigelius). Casserius’s work laid the foundation for the modern understanding of neuroanatomy, and the precision and clarity of these engravings are a testament to his scientific rigor.
