This set of 4 chromolithography prints is from Ferdinand Richardt 's book ”Skånska Herregårdar”, (Scanian Manors). The works were published by Berlingska boktryckeriet in Lund, 1863.
Ferdinand Richardt (1819-1895) was a Danish-American artist known for his landscape paintings and detailed architectural views. He gained recognition for his skillful depictions of European and American landscapes, often capturing scenes with meticulous detail and a strong sense of atmosphere. Richardt immigrated to the United States in 1855, where he traveled extensively and painted numerous landscapes, particularly focusing on scenes of the American West and notable landmarks such as Niagara Falls and Yosemite Valley. His works are characterized by their romanticized interpretations of natural scenery and historical buildings, contributing to the 19th-century American landscape tradition.
