This detailed map of the historical province of Touraine in central France, titled "Touraine Turonensis Ducatus", was created by the renowned cartographer Jean-Baptiste Nolin. It presents an intricate view of the region’s towns, rivers, and topographical features. The upper right corner features a finely engraved allegorical figure surrounded by agricultural motifs, while the title cartouche is framed in ornate decoration at the lower left.

Jean-Baptiste Nolin was a royal geographer and one of the most respected mapmakers of his era, known for his elegant, precise engravings and collaborations with notable French scholars and publishers. His maps remain significant documents of early modern French cartography.
