The map includes Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, and parts of the Balkans and North Africa, with cities, rivers, and borders clearly marked. The title is enclosed within an elaborate cartouche featuring classical figures and motifs, characteristic of Enlightenment-era cartography. 

Thomas Bowen was a British cartographer and engraver, son of the well-known Emanuel Bowen. He continued the family legacy of mapmaking and produced detailed maps for historical and educational publications in London. His work is recognized for its clarity and precision, reflecting the scientific standards of the late 18th century.
