This architectural engraving by Giacomo Lauro presents a reconstruction of the Thermae Agrippae, or Baths of Agrippa, located near the Pantheon in ancient Rome. The bird’s-eye perspective highlights the classical layout of Roman baths, including labeled sections such as the Tepidarium, Frigidarium, and Balneum calidum, along with monumental domes and columned porticoes. Executed in 1641, the print belongs to Lauro’s famous series Antiquae Urbis Splendor, which sought to revive the majesty of Imperial Rome through visual and scholarly reconstructions. The accompanying Latin inscription provides historical commentary on the function and significance of the site.

Giacomo Lauro was an Italian engraver active in Rome during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He gained fame for his work Antiquae Urbis Splendor, a richly illustrated record of ancient Roman monuments.
