Beskrivning
The original title reads: "Eigentliche Abbildung der Battalien, zwischen den Schwedisch: und der Alirten Dänischen und Holländischen Armeen in der Inßul Fünen, Anno 1659 im 9bris." This antique engraving presents a fortified plan with a siege from land and sea during the 1659 battle on the island of Funen.
The map details troop formations of cavalry and infantry, surrounding forests, and coastal defenses labeled "Die Belt." It illustrates how the Danish and Dutch forces landed ("Wie die Dänische und Holländische Völker an der Insul Fünen angesetzt haben"). The lower right corner contains a small vignette showing the landing of ships, highlighting the naval aspect of the siege. This copperplate engraving offers valuable insight into 17th-century Northern European warfare. The work was published posthumously in 1659.
