This richly detailed and finely engraved map titled La Pologne was originally drawn by Guillaume Delisle, one of the most influential French cartographers of the early 18th century. It depicts the historical territories of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, including the Royaume de Pologne (Kingdom of Poland), Grand Duché de Lithuanie (Grand Duchy of Lithuania), and bordering regions such as Moscovie, Petite Tartarie, and Prusse.

This edition, dated 1806, was published posthumously in Paris and includes updates based on the earlier observations of Hevelius, Hartnoch, Beauplan, and Starovolsk, as noted in the cartouche. It reflects the cartographic and geopolitical understanding of Eastern Europe before the full dissolution of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.

The hand-coloring delineates political boundaries and administrative divisions, while rivers, cities, forests, and topographical features are rendered with precision. The decorative cartouche in the lower left is framed by allegorical figures and classical iconography, underscoring the Enlightenment interest in geography as both science and art.
