This elegant copperplate engraving by Jacques de Sève depicts L'Albatros, the majestic oceanic bird, standing proudly on a rocky outcrop surrounded by waves. XXIV, Pag. 344, and originates from Buffon’s Histoire Naturelle, one of the most significant zoological works of the Enlightenment era.
