This detailed engraved map, titled "PEDEMONTIS ET ALPIUM ADIACENTIUM REGIONUM. AVCTORE IOH. OLIVERIO DESCRIP." was compiled by Abraham Ortelius based on the work of Giovanni Oliviero. It first appeared in Ortelius's groundbreaking "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" (Theatre of the World) in 1570. The map provides an intricate representation of the Piedmont region of Italy and its neighboring Alpine territories, detailing mountains, rivers, and numerous towns and settlements.
