This elegant engraving depicts a standing nude female figure beside a tree trunk and laurel branch, her posture evoking modesty and classical balance. At her feet lie a quiver and bow, suggesting allegorical allusions to Diana or a mythological muse.

Frederick de Wit (1629–1706) was a Dutch engraver, publisher, and cartographer. In addition to maps, he produced drawing books for artists, promoting anatomical and proportional studies based on antique models. His work influenced art education during the Dutch Golden Age.
