Beskrivning
This Offset print of a famous political caricature from the British magazine Vanity Fair. The portrait depicts Samuel Wilberforce (1805–1873), the Bishop of Oxford, in a commanding, stylized pose, wearing voluminous clerical robes. The caption, "Not a brawler." is ironic, referencing the Bishop's reputation for eloquent yet contentious debate within the Church of England. The original chromolithograph was published in 1869.
