It displays the Indian subcontinent, including regions Persia, Tibet, and Bengal, and covers the area from the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal. The interior of the map features detailed place names, rivers, mountain ranges, and political divisions, reflecting the mid-18th century European understanding of the geography. An inset at the lower left contains a note on longitudes and a scale for Bombay.
