It details regions Parthia, Aria, Gedrosia, and Indo-Scythia, extending from the Caspian Sea to the Indian Sea. The map was published in Volume 1 of the monumental 18th-century travel collection, Histoire Générale des Voyages.
Antoine François Prévost, commonly known as Abbé Prévost, was a French author and historian. While famous for his novel Manon Lescaut, he is also renowned for compiling and editing the massive multi-volume work Histoire Générale des Voyages, which documented global exploration and was celebrated for its detailed maps and illustrations.
