The map features outline colour and includes islands such as Juan Fernandez and the Galapagos. It was published in Le Rouge's Atlas Nouveau Portatif.
Georges-Louis Le Rouge was a prominent French cartographer, engraver, and publisher based in Paris. Active in the mid-18th century, he held the title of "Ingénieur Géographe du Roi" (Geographical Engineer to the King). He is known for producing numerous atlases, individual maps, and plans covering various parts of the world, noted for their detail and decorative elements.
