Sebastiano Serlio was an Italian Mannerist architect and theorist. He was a pivotal figure in the history of architecture, known for his comprehensive treatise which codified the five classical orders and spread Renaissance architectural styles throughout Europe. His work greatly influenced architects in Italy, France, and beyond.
