This city plan illustration was published in an edition of Lodovico Guicciardini's highly popular descriptive work on the Low Countries, "Descrittione di tutti i Paesi Bassi."
Lodovico Guicciardini was an Italian writer, historian, and merchant who lived in Antwerp for many years.
