Desprez de Saint-Savin was a figure associated with military history and illustration in the early 18th century. His work provided technical and historical depictions of military operations and tactics that were influential enough to be reproduced in later 18th-century military manuals and histories, often published by prominent cartographers like Georges-Louis Le Rouge.
