Beskrivning
This engraving depicts two separate scenes of duels, likely sourced from historical accounts or artistic representations of classical antiquity. The upper scene shows two women fighting with swords and shields on a raised terrace overlooking classical ruins, reflecting accounts of female warriors or gladiatorial combat. The lower scene shows two dwarves or pygmy figures engaged in a similar armed duel. The print illustrates the various, sometimes unusual, spectacles and forms of combat documented by antiquarians.
