This hand-colored copperplate engraving is a double-folio map detailing the Pays de Caux region and the northern coast of Normandy, France. The map extends to the English Channel and the Seine River, featuring cities, forests, and topographical details. The map is a product of the meticulous cartography produced during the Dutch Golden Age.

Johannes Janssonius was a highly influential Dutch cartographer, engraver, and publisher who worked in Amsterdam during the 17th century. He is best known for publishing his expanded edition of the Mercator-Hondius atlas, eventually titled the Atlas Novus, which rivaled the production of his contemporary, Joan Blaeu.
