Cassini’s work was deeply rooted in the tradition of the "veduta," providing highly accurate visual records of the city's architectural evolution and its classical heritage. His technical mastery of copperplate engraving allowed him to produce works of great clarity and detail, making his prints highly valued by scholars and grand tourists alike as essential documentation of the Eternal City during the Enlightenment.
