Beskrivning
"Monde Connu des Anciens." This hand-coloured map provides a hemispherical cartographic representation of the world as understood by classical civilizations, encompassing Europe, North Africa, and much of Asia. The composition uses a polar or fan-shaped projection, with a simple title printed at the top center. Various regions and continental boundaries are delineated with delicate hand-coloured outlines in red, blue, and yellow, highlighting territories such as Scythia, India, and Ethiopia. This engraving was published in the Petit Atlas National des Départements de la France et de ses Colonies in Paris by Monin himself.
