This finely detailed antique map depicts Palestine and the Holy Land, including Jerusalem, Galilee, Judea, Samaria, Phoenicia, and surrounding biblical regions. The map is titled “La Palestine – Pour l’Histoire des Empereurs Romains de M. Crevier – Par le Sr. D’Anville” and was produced to illustrate the historical geography of the Roman and biblical world.
The engraving shows cities, ancient provinces, mountain ranges, rivers, and key biblical and classical locations, including Jerusalem, Jericho, Gaza, Tyre, Sidon, Damascus, and the Dead Sea (Mer Morte). The territory is divided into historical regions such as Galilaea, Samaria, Judaea, Idumaea, and Arabia Petraea, making it a valuable reference for biblical studies and ancient history.
