Christophe Nicolas Tassin was a French cartographer and geographer active during the mid-17th century, serving as the "Ingénieur et Géographe du Roi" (Royal Engineer and Geographer). He is best known for his series of small oblong atlases, including Les Plans et Profils de toutes les principales villes et lieux considerables de France, which provided comprehensive visual records of French cities, fortifications, and coastal regions. His works are valued for their clarity and their contribution to the military and administrative mapping of France.
