"Vita, Passio, et Resurrectio Iesu Christi" features a central cartouche surrounded by four circular medallions depicting the four evangelists. The top center contains the coat of arms of the Austrian Archdukes, while the bottom center includes a dedication to the Archdukes. This copper engraving depicts symbolic religious imagery. It serves as the title page for a series of prints documenting the life of Christ. The publication originated in Antwerp.
Adriaen Collaert was a Flemish engraver and print publisher who was active in Antwerp. He was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke and contributed significantly to the dissemination of religious and mythological imagery. His works are known for their technical precision and delicate line work. He played an essential role in the flourishing print industry in the Netherlands during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries.
