Socrus Simonis tenebatur magnis febribus is a narrative engraving depicting Jesus Christ performing a healing miracle for the mother-in-law of Simon Peter, who is shown resting in a bed surrounded by disciples and observers. The interior scene conveys a somber yet miraculous atmosphere within a room featuring a staircase and arched architectural elements. This copper engraving is part of a series documenting the life and ministry of Christ. The publication was produced in Antwerp.

Adriaen Collaert was a Flemish engraver and print publisher who was active in Antwerp. He was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke and contributed significantly to the dissemination of religious and mythological imagery. His works are known for their technical precision and delicate line work. He played an essential role in the flourishing print industry in the Netherlands during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries.
