"ID, Taxus baccata L." depicts the English yew, showing the branch structure (1), leaves (2), male reproductive structures (3, 4), and the mature branch with red arils (5). Cross-sectional views of the aril (6, 7) are included to illustrate the internal anatomy of the fruit. This chromolithograph is plate number 498 from the work Bilder ur Nordens flora (Images of Northern Flora). The series was published in Stockholm by Wahlström & Widstrand, with plates produced by the A.B. Litografiska Institutet.

Carl Axel Magnus Lindman (1856–1928) was a Swedish botanist and artist who served as a professor at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm. He is best known for his comprehensive work Bilder ur Nordens flora, which documented thousands of plant species native to Northern Europe. His botanical illustrations are highly regarded for their scientific accuracy and clarity of detail. Throughout his career, Lindman made significant contributions to plant taxonomy and the study of flora in both Sweden and South America.
