Beskrivning
"Botanical Studies" depicts three distinct botanical specimens, including a plant with a thick taproot and pink flowers, a flowering stalk with a tuberous root, and a fine-leaved fern or herb. This hand-coloured engraving is a plate from Histoire universelle du regne vegetal, published by the author in Paris in 1774. The work serves as a detailed taxonomic record of diverse flora, emphasizing both the subterranean root systems and the above-ground floral characteristics.
Pierre-Joseph Buc'hoz was a French physician and naturalist who produced an extensive collection of illustrated natural history books during the eighteenth century.
