"Museum Morsbroich - Leverkusen Februar 1955" illustrates a stylized human figure composed of bold black outlines set against large fields of primary red and blue color. This lithograph was published by Mourlot Freres in the book Kunst im Plakat der Pariser Schule by Andre Sauret in Paris in 1959. The publication documents the historical development of graphic design and poster art produced by artists living and working in Paris during the mid-twentieth century.
Fernand Leger was a French painter and sculptor who pioneered the movement known as tubism. He began his career as an architectural draftsman before becoming a central figure in the development of modern art in Paris.
