"Der Silberfasan, Der gemeine Fasan" This plate illustrates two pheasant species: the silver pheasant with its distinctive white and black patterned plumage and red legs, and the common pheasant showing its iridescent head and copper-toned feathers. The technical nature is a hand-coloured lithograph. It was published in the Naturhistorische Bilder-Gallerie aus dem Thierreiche, which was printed in Zurich and Schaffhausen. This series is recognized for its high quality of hand-finishing and its contribution to the systematic documentation of wildlife in the early nineteenth century.
