"Elephant Attacking a Man" This scene depicts a large elephant using its trunk to lift or strike a man lying on the ground amidst a forest of heavy, gnarled trees. This publication is significant for providing the European public with detailed, often dramatic, visual representations of exotic animals and foreign lands based on the journals of early explorers.
