This engraving illustrates a panoramic view of the Moscow Kremlin from across the river, featuring its fortified walls, numerous towers, and the sprawling architectural complex of the imperial residence and cathedrals. The technical nature is a copper engraving set within a page of French text. It was published in Voyages de Corneille le Bruyn par la Moscovie, en Perse, et aux Indes Orientales, printed in Amsterdam by Frères Wetstein. This work is significant for providing the Western European public with some of the first accurate and detailed visual records of Russian landmarks and the lifestyle of the Muscovite court during the early eighteenth century.
