This engraving illustrates a full-length portrait of a Persian woman enveloped in a long, flowing garment and a face veil that conceals her features, reflecting the traditional modest attire observed by the artist during his travels. The technical nature is a copper engraving integrated into a page of French text. It was published in Voyages de Corneille le Bruyn par la Moscovie, en Perse, et aux Indes Orientales, printed in Amsterdam by Frères Wetstein. This work is significant for its ethnographic documentation, providing early eighteenth-century European readers with detailed and realistic depictions of social customs and dress in the Safavid Empire.
