"Liliacées. Aloès a cornes de Bélier (Aloe fruticosa, L.)". This work illustrates an Aloe plant with its characteristic succulent leaves and a tall flowering spike, accompanied by detailed botanical dissections of the flower and seed pod below. This hand-coloured engraving is from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle, published in Paris in 1849.
