Victor Mottez was a French painter and lithographer who was a prominent student of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. Mottez spent significant time in Italy, where he studied the techniques of the Old Masters, which deeply influenced his commitment to classical draftsmanship and formal clarity.
