This antique hand-colored map titled Græciæ et Archipelagi delineatio originates from the rare educational atlas Atlas von der ganzen Welt für junge Leute, published in 1835 by Schneider & Weigel in Nuremberg. The map illustrates the regions of Greece and the Aegean Sea (referred to as the Archipelago), including Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, the Peloponnese, and the western part of Asia Minor. Prominent historical cities such as Constantinople, Athens, Corinth, and Thebes are labeled in Latin, and the islands of Crete, Lesbos, Euboea, and the Cyclades are precisely delineated. Hand-applied coloring highlights the political boundaries of the time. In the lower-left corner, the map features an elaborate allegorical cartouche and the title inscription. Designed for pedagogical purposes, the atlas was intended for young readers and reflects the 19th-century tradition of geographic education through beautifully engraved maps.
