This topographical map is a detailed 18th-century representation of the Kingdom of Bohemia (Le Royaume de Boheme). The map also encompasses the surrounding territories of Moravia, Silesia, and Lusatia, detailing the dense network of towns, rivers, and political boundaries. The borders are delineated with precise outline hand-coloring. The title is featured within a large, ornate rococo cartouche in the lower right corner, with a smaller allegorical cartouche in the upper right.
Georges-Louis Le Rouge was a prominent French cartographer, engraver, and publisher who was active in Paris during the mid-18th century. He held the title of "Ingénieur Géographe du Roi" (Geographer to the King). He is best known for his numerous atlases, including the Atlas Nouveau Portatif, as well as his detailed maps of cities, fortifications, and gardens.
