Beskrivning
This topographical and historical map depicts the Holy Land, or Palestine, with a focus on the territories of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The map details the region from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea, identifying key biblical cities, deserts, and geographical features. The borders of the tribes are delineated with distinct outline hand-coloring. The title is presented within an elaborate cartouche in the upper left, where an allegorical figure sits beside the inscription "Terre Sainte ou Palestine avec les Douze Tribus de Israel."
