This topographical and historical map depicts Greece (La Grece) and the surrounding regions, including Macedonia, Albania, and the Aegean archipelago. The map details the complex coastline, numerous islands, and interior territories, with different regions delineated by outline hand-coloring. The title is presented in a simple cartouche in the lower left corner.
Georges-Louis Le Rouge was a prominent French cartographer, engraver, and publisher who was active in Paris during the mid-18th century. He held the title of "Ingénieur Géographe du Roi" (Geographer to the King). He is best known for his numerous atlases, including the Atlas Nouveau Portatif, which contained a wide array of detailed maps.
