Jan Collaert I was a Flemish draughtsman, engraver, and publisher, who established a prominent workshop in Antwerp during the second half of the 16th century. He was a highly influential figure in the Dutch Golden Age print trade, producing a large volume of meticulous engravings based on the designs of leading artists of his day, often specializing in biblical, allegorical, and mythological subjects.
